A home studio guide to great sound without breaking the bank

About Me

My name is Raphael Mesquita. I am an Audio Engineer that is on a quest to get a phenomenal professional sound working out of my apartment studio. Technology in the music industry has brought us to a point where this is something we should be able to accomplish. I will be reviewing inexpensive gear that still brings you the studio quality, techniques that other home studios can use for their recording process, and plug-ins that even in the digital domain sound comparable to analog equipment.

The equipment I’m currently running is my Digidesign 003 interface along with Pro Tools 10 on a 15” MacBook Pro, an ART MPA stereo tube preamp, and a pair of Yamaha HS-80 Monitors. My mic locker currently consists of a Blue Baby Bottle and an Encore 200.  Besides audio equipment I have sound treated my room and play the drums and bass, I also like to say I know guitar and piano but I’m really still learning. I’ll be trying numerous pieces of equipment and techniques to get the best sound I possibly can here in the comfort of my home hopefully my experience will help you with something along my way!
